Accommodation

Our Sport and Recreation Centres have a range of comfortable accommodation options. Visit our individual centre web pages to learn about the accommodation available at each site.

Child safety

Protecting children from harm and abuse is a priority – we all have a role to play.

The Office of Sport is committed to safeguarding children and young people in our camps. We work with the sector, Office of the Children’s Guardian and other lead child safe agencies to help create a safe environment at our centres.

Our staff have all completed Working with Children Checks and National Criminal Records checks.  All staff are mandatory reporters and complete child safe training on a regular basis.

Our camp staff are among the highest qualified in the industry and undertake extensive annual training.  All our instructors have a Tertiary Qualification and/or Certificate III/IV in Outdoor Recreation/Leadership (or equivalent) and relevant industry experience.

Our camp staff are trained and qualified in Bronze Medallion, First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis treatment.

We have comprehensive policies and procedures in place around food safety. Our catering teams prepare fresh food onsite daily and are experienced in catering for complex dietary issues, cultural needs, allergies, anaphylaxis and other medical conditions.

Our camps are registered members of Outdoors NSW & ACT – the peak body for Outdoor Recreation, Education, Therapy and Adventure Tourism.

We use the Australian Activity Standards and Related Good Practice Guides when developing our activity Standard Operating Procedures.

Registering

Depending on the package you have chosen you may need to complete an online registration form.

This form is required to be completed for catered events and events where instructor led activities are being undertaken.

Prior to your event the group organiser will be provided with a unique URL and further instructions to complete our online medical and consent form.  The group organiser will then share this link with all other guests.

Online registrations close 21 days prior to your event.  Requests to reopen the registration portal can only be made by the group organiser. The information you provide on the medical and consent form will help us look after your needs at camp. If you have an injury, pre-existing condition, allergy, special dietary needs or are on prescription medicines, please provide full details on this form.

If you have forgotten to include any information when registering, you are able to update the online registration up to 21 days prior to camp.  If updates need to be made after this time, a request will need to be made by the group organiser.

If you are the group organiser you will have access to our Organisers' Portal where you can track which people have registered, allocate accommodation and activity groups.

Activities

We offer a wide range of activities across all our sport and recreation centres

Please note:

  • There is a minimum cost of 24 people.
  • For activity groups our ratio is 1 instructor per 30 participants.  Each group requires a responsible adult.
  • All instructor-led activities require a safety briefing. Failure to follow instructions may result in non-participation.
  • Covered shoes must be worn when participating in all activities, this includes aquatic based activities such as sailing and kayaking.

If you would like to include instructor-led activities, please let our Central Reservations Team know when booking your event.

Meals

We can provide a range of catering options to suit your needs and our menus vary seasonally. We also cater for special diets and allergies.

Visit our meals and food safety page for more information.

Medical conditions and issues

If you or a family member have a pre-existing condition, allergy, special dietary needs or are taking medication, please ensure you have provided full details when completing the online registration form.

Anaphylaxis

  • If you or your child suffers from anaphylaxis, we need an ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis which has been prepared by a doctor. This plan needs to be uploaded when completing the online registration form.  Your registration can't proceed without this document.
  • People at risk of anaphylaxis need to bring at least one adrenaline auto injector. On catered programs, all children under 18 years of age with food allergies are required to wear an identifying red wristband. This is an added precaution to assist staff when managing situations where food allergens may be present.
  • Find out more about our processes and procedures for managing allergies and anaphylaxis by visiting Allergy Awareness at our Centres

Medication at camp

If you or a family member are taking medication, please bring enough for the entire duration of the stay.

First Aid

Centre staff hold first aid accreditation and can administer first aid for minor injuries or illness. If you require professional medical assistance, staff can direct you to the nearest medical centre or hospital or call an ambulance for you.

Alcohol and smoking

Our Centres are smoke-free environments.

If you wish to bring alcohol to one of our venues, please talk to our Central Reservations Team before your event.

Jindabyne is a licenced venue and is unable to accommodate BYO alcohol.

The Office of Sport reserves the right to ban alcohol or evict guests who are intoxicated or disturbing other guests.
