With over 178 hectares of bush and parklands, there’s plenty of space to relax and catch up with family and friends at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

On event free days, you can pack a picnic and enjoy the use of one of two undercover BBQ areas, or numerous open grassed spaces. These areas are free to utilise for small groups on a first come, first served basis, or may be reserved for exclusive use (fees apply - see below).
Large groups of 20+, please contact the venue ahead of your visit.
No structures are to be erected, nor decorations stuck to property without venue management permission. You may bring your own chairs, tables, rugs  etc. Balloons are not permitted at the venue.

Sydney International Regatta Centre is a glass free and non smoking venue. Please ensure any drinks you bring with you are in plastic bottles or cans and all rubbish is disposed of in nearby bins before you leave so others can utilise the space after you.

You are also welcome to bring your own own portable gas BBQ to the site (Note: Gas only. Heat beads, smokers etc. are not permitted). These can be used on the Southern (main entrance) side of the venue only and are not permitted to be set up anywhere on the Island.

External caterers and / or commercial operators are not permitted on site without prior permission from venue management.

To book exclusive use of one of the two BBQ shelters, the price is $157 for half-day (Venue open to midday, or midday to venue close) or $265.50 for full day (venue open to venue close).

Bookings are subject to events being held at the venue. When events are held, the venue closes to recreational users and these areas are not available to book.

Note that during the busy event season of September - May, weekend availability is very limited with events held most days.

Bookings will not be taken more than three months in advance of the requested date and are subject to late changes.

To enquire about exclusive use of grassed areas for parties / functions, please contact regatta@sport.nsw.gov.au for information.

Check our Opening Hours page to see what dates the BBQ's are open / closed.
