The NSW Government has applied for the required licence and will open the SCG as an additional screening site to ensure football fans can continue to unite as the state cheers on the Matildas.
The SCG gates will open at 5.30pm ahead of the 6:00pm kick-off, with standard conditions of entry in effect. More information on conditions of entry available here.
Tickets are not required to enter the ground. The Members Pavilion and Ladies Pavilion will be open, as well as some food and beverage outlets. Transport and parking options available here.
Saturday night’s match will also be screened at the FIFA Fan Festival™ at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, which has been attended by more than 224,000 fans throughout the tournament.
Once capacity is reached at Tumbalong Park, the ICC Event Deck will be made available for fans to view the knock-out match on a big screen – supporters can bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks to this location. Fans are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Once again, the Sydney Opera House sails will be illuminated green and gold on Saturday night from 5:50pm, along with other key landmarks.
Saturday’s match will be the first time the Australian football team has progressed to the third-place play-off in a FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™, with Sydney also set for the Final against England and Spain on Sunday night with kick-off at 8:00pm at Stadium Australia.
NSW has been proud to host 11 games as part of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, with the state showcasing Sydney and its amazing facilities, and enthusiasm of residents for the duration of the tournament.
