InnovateHER showcases and captures the key success factors of innovative approaches used by State Sporting Organisations and to inspire others to think innovatively and consider what similar approaches they could adopt within their own sport.
Overall, we have seen some wonderfully innovative programs by grant recipients, which are improving experiences and increasing visibility of opportunities for women and girls both on and off the field.
Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT
How I Roll
The "How I Roll" program recognises the importance of role models to encourage girls and women with disabilities to get involved in wheelchair sports.
Water Polo NSW
Girls Making Waves
Girls Making Waves provides safe and fun water polo for girls and women who are wanting to learn to play or looking to raise their game in the pool or on the pool deck.
Triathlon NSW
Finish Lines, Not Finish Times
The "Finish Lines Not Finish Times" program focuses on participation in a non competitive environment through a series of women's specific events across the state.
Cricket NSW
WiCKETS (Women in Cricket)
WiCKETS is networking program that provides a platform for women at cricket clubs across NSW to connect and advance their leadership development.
Tennis NSW
Sheroes
Sheroes aims to increase the representation of women across all areas of tennis, as well as providing them with a network to learn, talk and mentor one another.
Basketball NSW
I AM A GIRL
The I AM A GIRL program is a multi-faceted program that encourages participation across all levels of basketball, primarily in playing, officiating and leadership spaces.
Water Polo NSW and Cerebral Palsy Alliance
This collaboration is an extension of the Girls Making Waves program that aims to break down barriers and make water polo more inclusive for individuals with a disability.
AFL NSW/ACT
Female Leaders & Mentors
The Female Leaders & Mentors program aims to create equal opportunities and build the skills of women in AFL to elevate their level within the game and community.
Grant Program Case Studies
Since it's inception in 2019, the Her Sport Her Way Grant Program has allocated over $2.45 million to State Sporting Organisations to support over 100 projects in NSW which enabled them to innovate, test new ideas, and reimagine their offerings for women and girls.
