The Office of Sport’s Southern Region delivers a range of services and initiatives designed to enhance sport and recreation in Southern NSW.

With offices in the Riverina Murray, Illawara Shoalhaven and South East and Tablelands, we work with the industry to facilitate best practice and cultivate greater capacity for sport and recreation in the community.

Riverina Murray

The Riverina Murray region with its river and inland environments, varied climate, cross border communities and strong sporting heritage is a great place to play sport and be active.

By working collaboratively with key stakeholders, the Office of Sport aims to increase participation in sport and recreation within this region, by offering high quality programs and facilities.

Illawara Shoalhaven

The Illawarra Shoalhaven region is the ideal place to be outdoors and active. It has spectacular escarpments, coastlines, waterways and lakes, providing a remarkable backdrop to its coastal towns and vibrant regional centres.

The Office of Sport’s vision for the Illawara Shoalhaven region is to lead participation in sport and active recreation through collaborative and innovative opportunities.

South East and Tablelands

Snowy mountains, surfing beaches, iconic rural hinterland and a close connection with the sporting hub of Canberra – the South East and Tablelands region has a diverse and unrivalled offering.

The region’s unique environments provide a strong foundation to build healthy communities by providing sport and active recreation opportunities for everyone.
