Developed by the University of Newcastle, Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered is an award-winning, evidence-based program proven to enhance the physical and social-emotional well-being of girls.

The program is for dads and their primary school-aged daughter(s) (K-6) and focuses on empowering young girls and improving girls’ fundamental movement skills through fun activities and one-on-one time with their dad.

Each week will involve a short theory session focusing on ways to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience in girls as well as a practical session with a focus on rough and tumble play, fitness and sport skills. The emphasis is on fun and the program caters for all physical activity and skill levels.

EIGHT WEEK PROGRAM INCLUDES:
• Eight 90-minute weekly group sessions at 6:00pm - 7:30pm starting Tuesday 9 February. Note: the first week of the program is for dads only, with their daughters joining them for the remaining seven sessions
• Practical sessions focus on rough and tumble play, sport, and fundamental movement skills
• Theory sessions focus on building confidence, self-esteem, and resilience in girls
• Daughters and dads receive a program t-shirt and drink bottle
