Sport and recreation clubs in NSW wanting to sell alcohol on their premises must apply for a liquor license.

The Liquor Act 2007 and the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007 are in place to ensure alcohol is sold responsibly and clubs need to meet these obligations.

Alcohol and sport often have a strong association. That’s why good alcohol management is essential for all sporting clubs.

Good alcohol management can result in a culture that reduces binge drinking and alcohol-related risks. It also helps provide a safe environment for members and creates a positive reputation for your club.

Your state or national body is a good first port of call for advice and assistance.
