Active Fest events are funded by the NSW Governments Community Sport Rebuild and Recovery Package, and provides financial support, assistance, and participation opportunities for communities hardest hit by the COVID lockdowns.
The Office of Sport in conjunction and local Active Kids providers will deliver free activities including youth singers and entertainment, modified sports, archery, basketball, cricket, sports gear giveaways, and sausage sizzle. The kids will have a variety of activities to participate in on the day and to register with the service providers programs.

Past Far West Active Fest locations
For the second year, the NSW Office of Sport, in conjunction with Creative Community Concepts, Kit Bag For Kids and MALO Republic, will deliver free activities including: a colour run, sports gear giveaways, a sausage sizzle, and mental health programs in a number of rural and remote locations across the Far West of NSW in 2022.
The children will have a variety of activities to participate in on the day, and all kids in attendance will receive free training gear courtesy of MALO Republic through their buy one give one program, and their partnership with Kit Bag For Kids.
On top of this, the Black Dog Institute, will be running Act, Belong, Commit mental health programs to all participants in attendance to help promote positive wellbeing in the community.
Far West Active Fest event inclusions
- Children will be able to participate in a variety of activities including a MALO colour run, rugby league skills, and heaps of other activities
- All kids who attend will receive free training gear and will also have the chance to win even more sporting apparel on the day
- Mental health workshops for adults and children at the Active Fest events, through the Black Dog Institute
- Free sausage sizzle BBQ for all participants on the day
