Kayak Instruction at Penrith Whitewater Stadium
Are you interested in kayaking and would like to give it a try?
At Penrith Whitewater Stadium we have experienced instructors who can teach you all about kayaking, build your confidence and broaden your paddling horizons.
PWS offers a variety of group kayak instruction courses for a wide range of skill levels.
Group Instruction
Group instruction is taking a winter break until September 2025.
Our most popular form of instruction are the group instruction courses, where you will learn skills ranging from flatwater to Grade 3 whitewater. You will learn in a group of people with similar skills and experience to yourself.
A minimum of 4 people is required to confirm a course.
Never kayaked before and would like to give it a try? Our Intro to Kayaking course takes place on our flatwater lake and offers you a relaxed introduction to kayaking, which will hopefully "wet" your appetite for a whole lot more!
Minimum Age: 8 years
Duration: 3 hours
Experience: No experience necessary
Adventure Level: Low
Price: $95.00 per person
Would you like to become a whitewater paddler & are ready to take the plunge? The Level 1 course begins on flatwater and progresses towards basic whitewater. The Level 2 course continues to build on the skills to conquer our Grade 3 whitewater course. Each level is run on a weekend.
Minimum Age: 10 years
Duration: 4 days (6 hours each day)
Experience: Previous flatwater kayaking experience is very desirable
Adventure Level: Moderate to High
Price: $900.00 per person
Looking to consolidate your whitewater paddling skills and build your confidence? The Level 3 course concentrates on developing you into the ultimate whitewater kayaker!
Minimum Age: 10 years
Duration: 1 day (6 hours)
Experience: Completed the Level 2 Quickstart course OR have kayaked on Grade 3 whitewater in the last year. The ability to roll is highly recommended
Adventure Level: High
Price: $300.00 per person
Private Instruction
During a private instruction, we will work with you to determine how best to meet your specific needs. This may include one-on-one instruction, with a small group, or instruction in an area not covered by one of our group instruction courses.
Adventure Level: Low to High.
We recommend you be physically fit and be confident in the water.
Minimum Age: 12 years
Duration: 1 or 2 hours
Experience: No experience necessary
Individual prices:
1-hour private instruction: $110.00
2-hour private instruction: $195.00
Group prices: Bring a friend or family member to share the experience!
1-hour private instruction: $110.00, then $70.00 per additional person
2-hour private instruction: $195.00, then $130.00 per additional person
