The Office of Sport Orange Office has worked with Orange PCYC, Orange Aboriginal Medical Service and the Orange team LOOKATEEMMLAH to plan and deliver the NSW KO Health Challenge in Orange.
The NSW KO Health Challenge aims to motivate Aboriginal people to manage their lifestyle-related risk factors for chronic disease and reduce prevalence of overweight and obesity through a weight loss competition and physical activity challenges.
The Challenge enables communities to take the lead on physical activity and nutrition activities that will work for them to make and lead a healthier lifestyle.
Activities may include weekly boot-camp style workouts, cooking classes, walking groups or educational and information sessions.
Two 10-week programs which involve personal training sessions, cooking classes and personal goal setting will be delivered in Orange with 35 registered teams throughout NSW.
