A $23 million Regional Sporting and Recreation Complex was opened at Tuggerah in late March. The 18 hectare complex consists of nine playing fields, cricket pitches and an amenity building.

The facility will enable mass participation and large-scale events, with the potential for significant economic benefits to the region.

The opening weekend featured local and state organisations showcasing a number of sports, including football, AFL and rugby union. Sport NSW ran an Activate Inclusion Sports Day, with Wheelchair Sports NSW holding a Hand Cycling exhibition.
