Following the recent State election, the Office of Sport has a new Minister, the Hon. John Sidoti MP, Minister for Sport, Multiculturalism, Seniors and Veterans. Mr Sidoti has been the Member for Drummoyne since 2011 and is a keen supporter of the Sydney Roosters, enjoying golf, touch football and tennis in his spare time.
The new government has also made some changes to the structure of the NSW public service. The Office of Sport will now operate as part of a new cluster of agencies within the Department of Family and Community Services and Justice, known as the Stronger Communities cluster.
Being part of the Stronger Communities cluster provides the opportunity to use sport to drive major social change across a number of areas.
