The Office of Sport’s Northern Region delivers a range of services and initiatives designed to enhance sport and recreation in Northern NSW.

With offices located at the Central Coast, Hunter and North Coast, we work with the industry to facilitate best practice and cultivate greater capacity for sport and recreation in the community.

Central Coast

The Central Coast region with its outstanding natural assets, coastal lifestyle, temperate climate, revitalised local centres and well-connected communities, is a great place to play sport and be active. The “green grid” criss-crosses the region, allowing residents to connect to a network of open space, natural areas and recreational facilities. Tourism and recreation have become mainstays of the region’s economy.

The vision for the Central Coast region is to lead a collaborative approach that enables inclusive participation in Sport and Active Recreation for the Central Coast community that is accessible, affordable and sustainable.

The Hunter region with its growing metropolitan area, vibrant centres, towns and villages, excellent transport networks and extensive green grid of open space and recreational facilities is a great place to play sport and be active.

The vision for the Hunter region is to lead the way in providing everyone in the Hunter region access to their choice of sport and active recreation opportunities.
