Children and young people participating in sport have the right to be safe, in clubs that are free from harm and abuse. The Office of Sport provides training on how clubs can create safer sporting environments for children and young people.
Developed using materials from the Office of the Children’s Guardian, the Child Safe Sport workshop targets club committees, administrators and volunteers.
The workshop is free of charge and provides practical ways to assist clubs to protect children and also provides an overview of Working with Children Check responsibilities.
Participants will also learn about useful resources, tools, templates and tips to assist them in safeguarding children in sport.
